Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I live far from your headquarters. Do you build projects in my city?
A: Yes! In fact, our projects can be found in homes all over the world.
Q: Can you also install the secret door?
A: Yes. However, our doors are designed for ease of installation. In most cases the secret door will arrive pre-hung, allowing the client to save significant cost by having the door installed by a local contractor.
Q: Can you match my existing woodwork?
A: Yes. We match finishes on almost every project and we have never had a complaint of an imperfect match.
Q: Do your doors come with a Warranty?
A: Yes. All of our products come with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a 1-year warranty.
Q: How do I make an order?
A: The first step is to decide where in your home you want the secret door, and what you want the secret door to look like. Then give us a call or send an email describing your project to email@example.com
Q: Can I put a secret passage in my existing home?
A: Yes. Just find a closet, bedroom or storage room that you would like to convert to a secret room and give us a call.
Q: What does it cost?
A: As with all custom construction projects, the cost is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on the scope of the project. Our basic projects start at around $6500.
Q: What is the lead time?
A: Lead times depend on the complexity of the project and the time of the order. Typical lead times are about 8 weeks from receipt of the deposit.
Q: What are the electrical requirements?
A: Most of our automated doors require a standard 110VAC power supply available at the center of the header at the top of the door jam.
Q: What if the power goes out?
A: When placing an order, clients choose between “fail-safe” and “fail-secure” configurations. Fail safe doors unlock in the event of power failure and fail secure doors remain locked.
Q: Can you sell me just the hinges and electronics?
A: No. Our doors are literally built around our hinge and electrical systems. It would be more difficult and expensive to coach an alternate wood supplier on how to incorporate our hinges and electronics than it would be for us to make the complete door.
Q: How do I apply for a job at CHE?
A: Send a resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
